Hello! I am ÇaÄŸla (Cha-la). This is how I pronounce my full name.

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Philosophy Department at Syracuse University. My research is on global linguistic justice, which is at the intersection of social and political philosophy, philosophy of action, and philosophy of language. I work with an existentialist account of linguistic agency to identify the whole range of challenges nonnnative speakers face as I heavily draw from feminist philosophy as well as philosophy of mind, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and TESOL.

I grew up in Turkey. I have two BAs from Bogazici Univeristy, Istanbul. I started as a Political Science and International Relations student and then double majored with Philosophy. I also have an MA in Philosophy from the same university.
